Ladybower Reservoir, Derbyshire

Last weekend kmi g jejalan & picnic:). Family Kak Hanim ajak kmi g tgk suasana Autumn di area Peak District sebelum masuk musim Winter xlama lagi. Cuaca cantik sangat, lagi bertambah sronok bla tgk menu picnic kmi..hehe, beraneka jenis! Ada bihun goreng, nasi goreng udang + sambal, sandwich, Wildberry cheese pie, juice, and da best part ada KOPI RADIX..hahhaa, jgn terkejut, sampe gak Radix di UK ni:). Kami terpegun dgn ciptaan yg Maha Esa, cantik sangat panorama disekeliling sepanjang pejalanan ke area Peak District.

Bila kami da sampe di Peak District, Derbyshire, kmi terus menuju ke tourist park, situ ada lovely path utk walking trips sambil menghirup udara bersih dari hutan simpanan Peak District. Then, ada stopby picnic table..bole la nak hidang/jamu selera sambil mengamati panorama Ladybower Reservoir:)

Punye sronok bersiar-siar di sekitar empangan & merentasi laluan bukit bukau, kmi da terlepas pandang tempat spatutnya utk picnic..hehe, pepun we reallyyy enjoy the walking trip! Anak2 i pon selesa, even penat berjalan tapi they are well behaved at tat time n i can see the also enjoy it:)

Orait, da sronok berjalan? Lets take a look of its very own history bout The Ladybower Reservoir...it is the newest of three reservoirs in the Upper Derwent Valley in Derbyshire. The other two dams are The Howden and The Derwent and these were constructed in a gothic style and were both finished in 1916. The Ladybower was completed in 1945 to provide drinking water for the cities of the north and east Midlands. It is the largest of a chain of 3 massive reservoirs which are known as the " Peakland Lake District". The 'plugholes'(pic above) is also called as a glory hole, or bell-mouth spillways. In areas where the surface of the reservoir may freeze, bell-mouth spillways are normally fitted with ice-breaking arrangements to prevent the spillway from becoming ice-bound. The valley is now a scenic tourist attraction, with well - marked footpaths, cycle - hire available for the attractive woodland and lakeside cycle routes, picnic sites and car parking:)
